Recruitment works best when it’s handled with judgement, care and clarity

Most recruitment problems don't start with candidates.

They start with unclear roles, rushed decisions or uncertainty about what the business really needs.

That's why good recruitment starts with understanding the organisation, the people and what the role really needs, not simply filling a vacancy.

I support organisations when recruitment really matters, whether that's making a senior or sensitive hire, or helping a growing business recruit with confidence.

Sometimes that's search-led. Sometimes it's a traditional contingency approach. The right solution depends on the role, the organisation and what success looks like.

My Approach

I provide recruitment support that is:

  • Thoughtful rather than transactional
  • Discreet where required
  • Honest and realistic about the market
  • Focused on fit, judgement and long-term success

I don't operate as a volume recruitment agency.

I work with businesses that care about hiring well and representing themselves professionally.

How I Can Help

Search & Selection

For senior, specialist or trust-critical roles, a search-led approach is often the right answer.

This typically suits:

  • Senior appointments
  • Confidential or sensitive hires
  • Succession planning
  • Roles where advertising alone won't reach the right people

Search work is careful, targeted and discreet, identifying the right individuals, approaching them professionally and representing your business throughout the process.

Search & Selection assignments can be undertaken as standalone projects and do not require ongoing HR support.

Contingency Recruitment

In other situations - particularly within growing SMEs - a traditional contingency approach may be the right fit.

This may be appropriate where:

  • Speed is important
  • The talent pool is more accessible
  • The role is clearly defined
  • Flexibility is preferred

Where contingency recruitment is the right approach, expectations are agreed upfront and the process remains straightforward, professional and transparent.

Hiring Advice & Manager Support

Recruitment isn't just about finding candidates.

Owners and managers often benefit from support with:

  • Clarifying what the role really needs
  • Setting realistic expectations
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Approaching hiring conversations with confidence
  • Making balanced recruitment decisions

Taking a little more time at the beginning often leads to much better hiring decisions.

Culture Starts Before Day One

Every recruitment decision shapes your culture.

The recruitment experience influences:

  • How people feel about joining
  • How quickly they settle in
  • How they contribute
  • Whether they stay

Getting this right from the beginning makes everything that follows much easier.+

Who I Work With

I typically support:

  • Owner-led businesses
  • Growing SMEs
  • Family businesses
  • Businesses without an in-house HR function
  • Organisations needing additional HR or recruitment support

Based on the Wirral, I primarily support businesses across Merseyside and the North West, although I also work with organisations further afield.

Some clients work with me on recruitment alone.

Others combine recruitment with ongoing HR support.

Both approaches work equally well.

Every assignment is different.

  • The recruitment approach agreed
  • The level of search involved
  • The complexity and seniority of the role

  • 15% - Salaries £35,001 - £60,000

Recruitment Terms

The indicative fees above apply to contingency recruitment assignments.

Full Recruitment Terms of Business are provided and agreed before any assignment commences.

Retained and search-led assignments are always supported by a role-specific proposal, agreed in writing before work begins.
